Hi Ddm12,
Have you had some success with the stim ,I know a few on this site have had a number of problems and hate them ,I would talk to your GP before changing your dosage as you could run into problems ,morphine and opioid based drugs are on the black list and all drs are trying to not prescribe them so ask your doc if there is anything non morphine based which could give you some relief after all they are there to help you..
I have had nerve endings in my lumbar spine which give some relief about every
3 months I’m like a pin cushion

as long as I wake up alive I'm happy

Nevro is the newest SS and I have had this one for 6 weeks and works better than ST Jude but does get rid of a lot of neuropathic pain.
Have tried many different pills, still on 300mg lyrica which has some help but unfortunately still need opioids. Have needles every 6 months which also help but every time I try and reduce opioids run into a lot of pain issues. Mind you 6 months ago I couldn’t do anything so I do have a lot of my life back riding horses etc but still constant pain which varies day to day etc with no real pattern as to why.

Hi Ddm12,
I’m on 300mg lyrica (twice a day), 200mg Sertraline (morning) , 2 x panadol osteo (3 times a day) , 2 x 50mg endep (nightly) , 2 x 2 mg circadin (nightly) and 10mg oxycodone (nightly) which dulls the pain as my lumbar spine stuffed
This is where I have the nerves burnt L3/4 ,L4/5 ,L5/S1 , I also have 14 nerve burns when they do the sacro iliacs.
Unfortunately I can’t get back on a horse ? I’ve had to get a car with wider seats so my pelvis isn’t cramped and also allows me to wriggle to adjust my seating position .

Hi I have been on panadeine forte for about 8 years for neck pain and it is destroying my stomach. Morphine makes me vomit and as I take Zoloft I am limited also because of serotonin syndrome which my dr is concerned about. My pain specialist put me o. Palexia 50 mg but I found it didn’t do anything for my pain so l went back to panadeine forte but my stomach appears to be getting worse. I need something that is going to help with pain so that I can function. My GP does not want me on opioids but I really can’t see any options.

Any suggestions would be helpful as I really don’t know where to turn at the moment...thanks

Hi Tessa,

Unfortunately we can’t suggest any medication whatsoever we would be crazy to do so as we aren’t qualified,I would go and have a chat with your local pharmacist (not a assistant) sit down and explain fully as you have here and I am sure that they could help you.

Hi, I have suffered severe chronic pain for about 4 years and on opioids etc. I have a Nevro spinal stimulator, and we are playing around with the programs now, and I must say after changing programs yesterday I have seen a massive reduction in pain. I am still on around 100mg of palexia and 4 endone a day, and with the stimulator does help reduce the pain a lot.
I have also been using canabis oil (hemp embassy) when I ride which also helps. I ride cutting horses and when I use the oil I can ride for around 2-3 hours and still walk after it. It does hurt a bit but is bearable.
I find I am never 100% pain free but can get it down to a 2/10 with the stimulator and it has allowed me to have a reasonable active life again. In summary I would suggest looking into a spinal stimulator and the oil.
Hope that is helpful.
Good luck
