Hi all!
Today is my first round of SI injections. So scared I could be sick, but I've been off all meds for 2 days and it'd hurt too much.
Problem is I've educated myself into this level of fear. See, I know how much a local hurts AND how much cortisone hurts through past experience and today involves the two at once. I know I'll be ok but I'd really just like to hide under my blanket. Hey, it worked when I was two.
No painkillers or anti inflams means every step is agony at the moment. I've got that dizzy off my face feeling from extreme pain. Blah.
Because I am not above bribing myself I'm going to get my favourite Maggie Beer ice cream on the way home. Gonna eat it straight from the tub, and I'm not sharing! Lol.
See you all after.

Good luck Brook, let us know how it went when you are able. AND save some of that icecream for me :) Love it, but I only allow myself to have it about once/year due to the calories and the cost. Funny, I came to within a bee's whisker of buying some yesterday!

I survived, but hooly dooly, that hurt like a mother trucker.
Feeling very worn out now. No ice cream for me.
My legs are rather wonky but steadily improving. Pain levels have dropped a bit which I'm rather happy about.

Brook belated well wishes, and by your latest post it seems a little successful, it time this will increase as day one is nothing to go by.

Well done Brook and hope you soon see significant improvement. You just scared the daylights out of me. I had the injections done on 4 levels in my neck prior to having the denervation of those nerves later. And i have to say that pain wise during the procedure it was only 2 out of 10. Pain doc asked a few times how come i was managing to stay so still and not reacting and honestly it didn't really hurt. All i can say was he was very good at what he does. The denervation of course was under general anaesthetic so that was ok. So if i have injections into lower spine joints just how much am i going to whimper?
