Omg that's absolutely shocking news Don!

Outlast is right they're a bunch narcissistic sociopaths that's why they're in those positions of power. Something should be done about our current waiting lists its beyond absurd! How can they expect you to wait 4 bl@@dy years? Oh my goodness are you going to write to someone about it. Or can you go and sit in a&e until they do something about it? 4 years for an appointment is a very long time. My neurologist appointment took 1 year to get in to see him....

That is ridiculous Don. As we know, SA Health is broke and that is probably contributing to your problems. I think that the current model of healthcare we have is failing miserably and yet they just keep cutting the budget. They have had 20 years notice that there would be an increased demand on the health system, but no one prepared for it. In this state, we waste money on all sorts of things but the simple fact is that, even if we didn't, in a few years the health system would still be in dire straits if it continues to run along the present lines.

I am certainly no expert in this field, but I did read an interesting article today on the current health system and how certain areas (I won't bore you with the details) could be altered to change the way that the health system runs.

I simply cannot believe that in 2012 people are told that they have to wait 4 years for an appointment to see a specialist.

My rant for today!

Mary

Already got the poison pen going, but as the poor lady at outpatients said it will get you nowhere, she has to report to the minister why and he will get the same answer, they have lost a few doctors from the clinic and because of budget costs they will not be replaced, as the government claimed they would not sack frontline staff but lose them to natural nutrition so service will not be affected, what they failed to clarify is they will not be replacing them either so can service not be affected. Will wait and see what responce I get from my emails.

I certainly hope you get the treatment you need Don. They rob from Peter to give to Paul. It makes no sense.....
