Sorry, I thought I was replying directly to 'Little Buddy'. Honestly, I don't find this forum very user-friendly. I tried again to respond directly to Little Buddy. Hopefully it worked.
Thanks.

I'm going to see my kids walk down the isle one day.

Who on the forum are you speaking to?
The last person who posted here was Go Nadz
Were you asking me this question?

Greetings, Hi, I am new to this forum, but not new to chronic pain. For 25 years I have lived with Cauda Equina Syndrome and stenosis of cervical vertebrae. The last two years have been the toughest following several bad falls. One fall badly damaged my knee and I am now recovering from having had a total knee replacement. Additional painful conditions on top of pre-existing chronic pain issues do not seem to be dealt with very well by the present health facilities. So after two years of being under medicated I am feeling burnt out. Despite my history of chronic pain I have never joined a support forum. So after reviewing the available support forums I have landed here. So, Hi everyone!

Hi Will,
Welcome to our site we do hope you will find some interesting tales ,hints , tips and guidance to guide you to maybe understand your pain better( I’m not saying you don’t know your pain because believe I know you do), hopefully if you haven’t been to one maybe we could suggest a pain management clinic ,a lot gets put into our little brains in the few weeks of the course but the main thing is to pace yourself.
There are a number of spots in the forum to either release your anger (venting) ,having a whinge(venting) ,superannuation (not venting) , pacing (ask us).
In the top part of the screen is a letter to show people so as to explain Chronic pain.
Gee I hope this helps if not (venting)
Cheers in pain

Hi, I am Helen 50 and have numerous ailments that have changed my life entirely. In 2009 I got Barmah Forest Virus, then Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteo, Bursitis and Fibromyalgia. Before 2004 I had lost over 60kgs was working as a nurse and enjoyed riding my motorbike. After I got sick in 2009 I gained 40kgs back on and have been on a rollercoaster of doctors, specialists, x-rays, scan, and medication. I have tried quite a lot of drugs but to no avail. I spent 2 years on prednisone just to settle my system down. I am currently on 64mgs Jurnista, 150mgs Endep, 8mg Dilaudid x2 PRN, and inject myself with Actemra subcut every week to stop my immune system from working. Oh forgot Madopar for restless legs and arms as well as BP meds and diabetic tabs. I have been told Jurnista is 8 times stronger than morphine and if that's the case then I am taking equivalent to 512ml of Morphine. My husband is now my carer and I don't leave my home very much due to the effort of trying to move around. To top all of this off I have been Bipolar since 1984 and with all that is happening to me I often have suicidal thoughts. It is so frustrating I can't exercise to lose weight, but if I lost weight it would take so much pressure of my joints etc. but the government wont cover sleeve surgery which would then help and reduce the cost on the health system Anyway that is me in a nut shell.

Hi Helen,

Wow where does one start, how long have you been suffering , and honestly being a nurse you probably know what your body can or can’t take but have you discussed your medication with your doctor and/or your pharmacist (I personally prefer the pharmacy) as they are really the specialist in medication and it’s effects on the body .
Don’t think I’m trying to teach you how to suck eggs but sometimes the mind plays silly games and our thoughts are haywire.
Search our site and ask questions as there are a lot of people who are in similar boats and may be able to give you some ideas .
Hope this is helpful
