Hi Mango,

Hi Mango & Harpy Lyrica isn't for everybody as it effects different people in different ways , I have heard from others on the forum that it can be a weight gain issue all I can suggest is try to control what you eat and how much.
As I have previously said Lyrica made me into a zombie I had forgetfulness, tears, massive depression and generally I was useless so be prepared for any side effects and keep your family informed so as they will realize and understand .

Hi Johnno,
Thats right we are all different, thankfully so.
I don't have to worry about the weight, being 58kg the meds arent helping me gain. I suppose I am blessed not to have the side effects that your having, I just wouldn't be able to function with that as well as the CP,

Hi Johnno,

I started my second dose today. So far the only side effect is drowsyness, or knocking the stuffing out of me. I have informed my family and they are all aware if I get agressive or really down, or anything out of the ordinary they need to tell me.

Hi Harpy,

Oh no.... I am trying to get my weight down, so I don't have your blessing. It is good to know so I can be aware.

Thanks both. Off the top of your head do you know if there is a Lyrica thread? I haven't managed to wade through them all yet.
Thanks. Mango xx

Hello CPA Boarders,

I wanted to use today's " Hello" to say THANK YOU.

Finding this forum has been a very good thing for me. Filled to the brim with information and people who understand. Finding people who understand is like a god send, and for the first time in a long time I am feeling a lot less isolated. And with the addition of Lyrica to my regieme I am also feeling hopeful for the first time in a decade. If I can decrease pain levels even by 1% that will be god send.

So Thank You to one and all.
Mango xx

Hi Guy's

Mango, I have been on Lyrica for years, it works really well for me but after 4 years I had to switch to gabapentin as it stopped working, make sure you take the dose increases slow as it can be a bitch, and the constipation is from the Opiates (Fentanyl, Oxy, Tramadol they all do it).

Also I put on 30Kg in four years so be careful with that.

Hi Ricky,
I have been on lyrica 200mg mornings and 275 mg of a night for four years also on fentanyl 25mgh.
I found lryica a wonder drug, it helped 90 % of my nerve pain. After just visiting with integrated pain specialist a couple days ago, he is weaning me off lryica, first dropping it to 125 mg mornings. And changing fentanyl patch to kapanol 30 mg morn and night. Apparently the meds are not working and my body is in withdrawal.
I am so stressing about having the withdrawals from the lryica when I fill the script in a few days. did you get them when you changed meds?
Thanks
Harpy
