Hi ,
I have been on Lyrica now for approx four + years to me it is a wonder medication as it relieves a hell of a lot of chronic nerve pain (post herpatic nueralgia) I initially had a fuzzy feeling like I was in the clouds and a real groggy feeling it left eventually and the light has come back on and the nerve pain is reduced ,mind you I'm on 300mg twice a day I find it helps me out a great deal but all medications effect people differently ,I worked with my doctor over fortnightly visits to gets a fine balance.

I have recently restarted Lyrica after a break of around 18 months. It had been quite effective but then I started getting terrible nightmares so my pain specialist at the time changed me to something else! Anyway to cut a very long story short I have sensitivities to so many medications now that I am limited to what I can take. My new pain specialist was keen to try again with low doses and build up slowly. So far so good but very small dose!!! I have also noticed some slight improvement with my neuropathic pain already so I'm feeling hopeful. A good balance is what is required and often one tablet is not the life saver but along with other treatments I'm hoping for a good outcome. After many months of a roller coaster this last week seems to have been a better one so hopefully everything I have in place (Physio, hydrotherapy, acupuncture,TENS,pain specialist, psychologist, good GP, new meds) are working together. Only time will tell

I just stick out my chin and grin and say, oh

The sun will come out tomorrow
So you gotta hang on
'til tomorrow, come what may!"

Hi

I found Lyrica amongst the medications of hell. It seems to polarise people - some find it wonderful others not.

You won't know unless you go in SLOWLY with positive thinking and a fair go.

Once I could laugh with everyone
Once I could see the good to me
Holding the world inside
Now the world is grey to me
Nobody can see you gotta believe it
Oh oh the night comes down
And I get afraid of losing my way
Oh oh the night comes down
And it’s dark again
