Hi Guys just had a phone call this week from the pain clinic and they tell me that i have to wait 3 mth to get into that clinic also they told me to go back to my Doctor and see if he will give me some better type of medication for my pain and also may have to look else where for a Pain Clinic to attend.
It seems that i am going round and round and getting no where fast, gee glad iam not dying yet ?

Cheers to all Alex. :(

Alex you happen to be trying at the wrong time of year, even the RAH pain clinic is winding down for Christmas, the office staff are manning the desks but all specialist are taking their last patients for the year, my earliest appointment for second post op follow up is not until after January the 7th, and I don't think any pain groups start until March at the RAH, but the waiting list is a year + to get in. If your GP is not willing to look after your pain may I suggest you rock up to casualty, your guaranteed for a long wait, but if you are in a lot of pain they will look after you and if you ask they will write a letter to your GP.

Sorry to hear Alex. I can relate to the waiting times between starting new treatments; seems like an eternity while you're in pain. Any chance of going to a private pain management clinic instead of public?

Hugs,
Fee

When I spoke to my pain clinic the other day she (the receptionist) just happened to mention that my injections for the back of my head and neck were cancelled. I had no idea this was the case. She said they must of rang me but I said no. I asked why and they said they had no nurse. I was scheduled end of March. This is a private pain doctors practice. Ahh. I have an appointment in February with the pain doc so I will talk to him then. The receptionist said something about maybe going through public rooms at a hospital for the treatment. I was only ringing to ask what extra fees were involved other than the $35 for each injection.

The end result is even in private you get stuffed around too. I also waited 3-4 months to get into this pain clinic and the appointments are very few and far between. I suspect they are just so busy and only have 2 pain doctors.
