I just got word yesterday that I will be doing a pain clinic. Yippy! This will be my first. It is at St Vincents at Kangaroo Point and is done as a block for those who live too faraway or are too ill. they do have one run over 8 weeks. I will be doing the block as my emu doesnt run fast enough to get there on time
I am going from excited to the usual panic of getting there and handling everything on my own to thinking this cant be happening as I am not really that bad that I need this. I know I am but this makes it real I have been going for years with out being classified as chronic pain(that only happened last year), not talking about this to friends and family and doctors ignoring me BUT now its all real. I kept thinking maybe they wont put me in the clinic as maybe I am not really that bad, I think maybe this was me hoping someone would tell me I am not bad so I would feel healthier. There is also the huge part of doing it alone and being so far from family. No that is not right any more I have some new friends from CP down there this time that I can chat to so I am stressing for no reason.
Ok I have had my little stress session.
Thanx for listening

That is fantastic news Wendles! I just had a quick look at their program and it looks really good. Are you doing the 2 week block? It embraces all the principles of pain management so you should be in good hands.
Congratulations. You will actually have fun because you will be with others who will not judge you and you can all help each other
Not every day is a good day, but there is good in every day.

Wendles good news indeed, no need to be scared or anxious, you'll be surrounded by people in similar situations as yourself, go in with an open mind, remember how you were welcomed when you joined the forum, expect the same once doing the course. Don't pressure yourself to try and remember all that is being taught you will have handouts on what was covered during the days ahead to go over and practice once you get home, I go through mine often just to get a refresher and cement what was taught to me.
