Hi, I've got chronic pain in spine, lower back and sciatic due to degenerative disc disease I've had since 17. After many injections, discectomys and that. This year I had the trial of the Nevro spine stimulater implanted. It was very painful and felt as though it did nothing for the pain, haven't having it out I still believe it the same pain but looking back on the records while the implant was in I did reduce my pain levels . I now have to decide to wether or not get it full implanted. I have reservations as I'm only 29yrs old.

Just wondering if anyone has had something similar done or know anyone that has. Any other insight would be helpful

Cheers

Hi Rhi86 (and everyone else)

New here today, as I'm looking at options after my trial finished this morning (10 days with SJM). The trial was a complete success, and as I thought, will be a very good option for my chronic pain that has spanned 15 years.

I am curious Rhi, are you in Australia? I have just watched the clips and had a read of the Nevro device, and although I see the daily charging as a drawback (SJM Prodigy 5-7 days on a charge) the lack of paresthesia during twisting/moving I see as a bonus. I could not see though who deals with them here in Oz (in particular Sydney) so was wondering where you are, and who did your trial?

Cheers

John

My surgeon advised me against them and stated should be the last resort.
You cannot have any mri scans once they are installed.
And i made alot of my own queries and all i could get was a 50 50 sucesss rate
Then there is the issue of you dont want to limit yourself for further options
All i am saying is give it alot of thought before you choose .it may be the right thing for you or not.
Get as much knowledge as you can on the subject and get various opinions from qualufied persons
