I was prescribed 250mg of Palexia (after I did a 3 week medication detox in hospital) which was supposed to replace the large doses of Oxy etc. This was to be taken morning & night. Tried it for 2 weeks and they didn't help me and I was put back onto the Oxy's etc.

I have spoken with other CP people and everyone is different with what works.

What works for one person may not work for the other.

Hope y'all are doing ok today!

Hi Dave and welcome,

I find when I swap my meds over I always feel more tired while the body adjusts and misses the other medication I used to take.

I couldn't take Palaxia....I tried for about 5 days from memory last Xmas but it made me feel so unwell with terrible symptoms and more pain so it was stopped.

I hope it works better for you.

It's usually trial after trial usually until one med fits the person...

Hi guys,

I had a trial of Palexia about a month ago now, and unfortunately not a pleasant experience.
It appeared to do nothing for my pain levels, and merely made me extremely lethargic, crashing out in the middle of the day and falling asleep at my desk on days I managed to get to work. I also found I was losing time, and could not track conversations or what was going on around me. No hallucinations thankfully, but scared enough losing hours & days at a time.
I progressed up to 250mg (I think), but the symptoms only increased severity and pain remained at max levels. So I stopped after about a month.
All in all, not much fun. And have returned to my codeine based meds.
Very interesting to hear others experiences.
