Pain still on high. Off norspan yesterday and leg pain has gone up... So how long until this ketamine kicks in then? I'm on max dose as of this morning, have been working my way up since mid Tuesday, stops Monday night. Aahh!!

Hugs sweetie,

Hang in there. Does it say on any of the posts in this thread if it took longer to kick in for some people?

Is the pain in your legs like someone has put their hand (magically) through your skin and are actually physically squeezing your muscles? I just wondered cos that's what mine feels like and it reduced when I first went on the Norspan, but has come back since I've got used to Norspan dose and you mentioned it's got worse since the Norspan is off.

What does your doc at the hospital say about the ketamine and what's happening with its progress?

Sending you encouraging hugs.

Yes that's what it feels like! Well I explain it like the kind of ache you get when you have the flu. The norspan must have still been doing something because I'm in much more pain now than I was on it! The doc said to not expect anything til tomorrow or Sunday but I'd have thought seeing as at least the leg pain has been more responsive to other things that it would have started to go by now. Headache very stubborn and nothing has touched it before so I'm not counting on it! Hanging in there and thank you! :S

I have just been in hospital on ketamine infusion for a week. First 3 days nothing really changed. Reached maximim dose on Sunday 30mg. By Monday night felt completely off face and had to ask for it to be turned back to 26. After that was all great pain completely went in shoulder and was able to get range of movement that I haven't achieved for months, it was like a miracle. Now on no pain meds whatsoever and hope to keep it that way.
I fell that I have my life back.

Why did you have pain in your shoulder, what is wrong with it?

I have Central Sensitisation and the pain is in my back and legs...its really hard to get a decent nights sleep, my legs are always stiff and they keep me awake. i have constant burning, aching painful calf muscles, joint pain etc etc etc 24/7 (I can't work in this condition, tho I try and have a life by doing what I can when I can...everyday is different and I never know how I will cope with it.. Very very painful, I could chop my legs off, literally!

Never mind, I have to learn to live with it...2 weeks ago I accidentally leaned over the recycling bin to get something out that was "in the wrong bin" and Iv'e been in agony since. I think I might've cracked a rib, just to add fuel to the fire, so to speak! Lol... I should have a X-ray I suppose...hmmmmm

Anyway,
It's good to hear from someone who has overcome their pain with a Ketamine Infusion! I wanted one of those about 2 years ago and the specialist said if I was a public patient he could've arranged it immediately, but unfortunately I am under W.C so it wasn't approved and therefore i couldn't try it under the public system and I don't have private health cover.

Dam, its hard enough without this extra problem with my ribs!

I hope you remain pain free. :)
